Dian was born and raised in the Netherlands, but after she got engaged to an American citizen she moved to the United States in 2004. She didn’t have an IT background and had never worked in that field but she had always been interested in it. Dian started her career in the US working in the Office Depot mailroom as a mailroom clerk, where she was promoted to Assistant Manager after 3 months. After Office Depot she started working for a bank where she worked as a HR Assistant and HR Coordinator. Unfortunately she was impacted by the 2008 financial crisis and lost her job. A few months later she landed a job at a IT Solutions Provider in Boca Raton, FL where she worked as a HR Coordinator. When the marketing assistant left, she agreed to also pick up those duties next to her regular HR position. After 3 years of working in HR, helping in Marketing and assisting the HelpDesk, Dian had a conversation with management, where she explained that she wanted to do more and had the desire to start a career in Information Technology.
The executive she talked to was very understanding and told her she had been a great asset to the organization and that they would be happy to help her with her career move. The CEO of the company got wind of the conversation she had with one of the executives and asked her if she was interested in working with Dynamics CRM. She had never heard of it, but she didn’t want to give up such a great opportunity. This is when her journey started. After 11 months she left the organization and took a job at a large accounting firm who also had a consulting line of business. She ran the CRM practice there for almost 4 years. In 2015, during a conference in San Diego, she decided it was time to further her career so she started talking to several Microsoft Partners that were present at the conference. She ended up talking to 3 different partners. A friend who was employed by one of the ISV’s Dian had been working with, handed her a business card of an executive at RSM and told her to contact him. “I told him all about you and he is interested in meeting you” she said. Dian wasn’t familiar with RSM, but felt she needed to setup the meeting as her friend went out of her way to get her the business card. The conversation went very well and after several interviews over the next month, Dian accepted a position as the national presales engineer for Dynamics CRM aka Dynamics 365. |

She has been working for RSM for nearly 5 years and feels it’s one of the best companies she’s ever worked for. Dian was awarded the Microsoft MVP award in 2020 for her Dynamics 365 community work.
