Dynamics GP’s new lifecycle calendar – Long life to GP!!!

It’s been a while that the GP official documents page hasn’t been updated about the various version’s lifespan and end of life.. But, good news, it’s been updated today officially on the Microsoft site to reflect the latest product lifecycle, which shows that GP is far from being dead yet. The chart bellow shows that GP is getting support and development at least until 2028 and beyond, which should be reassuring to the existing customer base, and even some new customers still unsure if they should go full cloud or get a trusty on-premise ERP that has proven its capabilities over the past 25 years. Dynamics GP is probably one of the most affordable SMB ERP business system on the market currently and new customers can start using GP with a ticket price that no other Tier-1 ERP system would offer.

For those that are still on an older supported GP version (2016), you need to be aware that regular support ends by July 13th, 2021, but fear not, since GP 2015 the upgrade path and processes have been pretty smooth to get the latest GP 18.x version. Currently the mainstream version of GP (Fall 2020) is 18.3, with various minor build numbers showing which tax updates have been applied (i.e. 1200). If you are a GP customer on one of the older versions (supported or unsupported), get in touch with your partner or contact me to get help on upgrading to the latest GP build.
