Extend data storage for Dynamics 365 Business Central

Last month, we received from Microsoft Dynamics Business Central Development team exciting news about the new plans to extend data storage for Dynamics 365 BC.

In my perspective, all the ideas make sense! Thanks Microsoft for driving the product in the right direction.

I just want to suggest an additional idea to be added in D365BC Roadmap: bring back the Data Compression routines that were available in previous Dynamics NAV versions and besides the compress, copy all the detailed transactions to Azure Data Lake storage.

In terms of the routines and as a first delivery, I suggest:

Data Compression G/L Entries Data Compression Bank Ledger Entries Data Compression Customer Ledger Entries Data Compression Vendor Ledger Entries Data Compression Warehouse Entries. Why copy all the detailed transactions to Azure Data Lake storage? It is the right solution using Microsoft stack, cheap for End Customers and easy to be used in conjunction with Dynamics 365 BC database for Data Analysis purposes.
