Sorting date fields in SSRS reports in CRM Online

 1. Create a new report in SSRS. Configure data source and credentials.

2. Add dataset and design a new table with required columns.

3. Right click on “startdatetime” textbox and select Textbox properties. Select Interactive sort and select “Startdatetime” from dropdown

Values are sorted alphabetically, all digits with 1 then 2,3,4,5…

As seen above, after applying interactive sort , dates are ordered incorrectly.

For instance, from bottom up after 1st June,  10th – 19th June is displayed and then 3rd to 7 th june.
4. Now change the sort field expression to
DateDiff(“d”,DateValue(Fields!startdate.Value),Today())

Dates are sorted in correct order from 1st to 19th .
By default dates are sorted in descending order, most recent first.
Apply the same expression on all date fields
