What’s the best method, hosted or on-premise, to deploy when we have multiple offsite users?

Community Member Profile Picture Community Member

Number 18 in a series of strategic questions and criteria to consider when you’re thinking about hosted accounting software and managed services.

Hosted or On-premise?

If you have multiple locations or multiple remote users, purchasing telecommunication lines with enough capacity for both input and output from the on-premise server location is particularly expensive for small and mid-size businesses. You’re better off using a cloud deployment.

Your headquarters location will have substantially lower upload and download requirements when satellite locations are accessing a hosted datacenter. Both headquarters and satellite offices will have better system performance.

Your host location offers sized telecommunication upload and download capacity. You can size up for your busy season and size down during slower periods to save money. Size up when you add locations or staff. Size down in a downturn.

Contact Computeration today to discuss coaching techniques (www.rapidimplementation.com) to keep your service costs down and a free 30-day trial offer of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013.

All of these tips and many more to facilitate a rapid, lean, agile implementation are contained within Gloria Braunschweig’s book, Rapid Implementation, available online through popular booksellers.
