BillurSamdancioglu Profile Picture BillurSamdancioglu 19,703 Most Valuable Professional

We have shared details about the differences between cost accounting and cost management module.

In this blog, I would like to give a bit more details on how cost accounting module works and what can be done.

As mentioned before, cost accounting module is just for reporting purposes. Basically what can be done is;

1. Copy GL Transactions, COA ,dimensions and some statistical measures to this module from D365FO.

2. Versioning allocations , due to see the exact results you would like to proceed. You can use different rules for difference versions.

3. Allocation of budget transactions is possible.

4. Doesn't effect actual GL Transactions

5. You do not have to decide allocation rules at the time of the transaction posting.

6. Can run more than once.

7. You can upload and use your own statistical measures.

8.You can use different currencies for reporting purposes with exchange rates.

Also it can act like an external module. Meaning, even if you do not use D365 FO, you can still upload data from Ax2012 or from Excels in this module and use for reporting purposes.
