Setting up a new company from scratch with configuration and base data in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations using data management
Couple of options:
- Choose MS provided data templates and sequence in D365FO
- Choose MS provided data templates from LCS
- Create your own templates/data packages and manually sequence them and load them
data packages comprises of one or more data entities which can be used using Excel to export and import data. This is a zip file and contains the manifest of the list of entities and their details.
Go to data management and use tile 'template' to load default data templates
One can down make modifications and export and import in environments/customers.
From LCS, they can be added from shared asset library to your project asset library
scroll down the list and can find the templates and their sequence in the naming convention
Which ever templates are chosen, there are common steps
You can now create data export project to export the template structure and is using any demo data or company data then the same also gets exports.
Then load the data in the Excel and create data import project to get your data loaded in D365FO
