Duplicate Detection Settings

Are you wondering why duplicate detection rule is not triggering while testing? Well, maybe you are missing this setting, which I am going to write in today’s blog.
The next important thing to do after you have created duplicate detection rules is to enable settings. You need to enable Duplicate Detection Settings so that the rules created could be called.
In this section, you will have the ability to choose when the duplicate rules will be called.

The settings could be found in Data Management > Duplicate Detection Settings
When a record is created or updated – This will check the criteria from the duplicate rule when the record is either created or updated
When MS Dynamics Outlook goes offline to online – This will check when sync happens when the user goes online from offline mode
During data import – OOB data import wizard will call the duplicate detection rules when
TIP – This is a mandatory setting to be done to call duplicate detection rules even after they are published.
