How to create a trial instance of Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement(CE)
Please follow the below steps to create a trial instance of Dynamics 365 using personal email address(Gmail, Hotmail etc.):
Step 1:
Go to https://trials.dynamics.com/. Click on “Sign up here” link.
After creating a trial instance, we can access below CE apps like Sales, Customer Service, Field Service and Project Service.
If we want to create a trial instance for Finance and Operations, Business Central or Human Resources then we need work email address.
Step 2:
It will display popup to sign in or signing up like below. Click on “No, continue signing up” link.
Step 3:
It will redirect user to a new page where we need to complete some steps to create Dynamics 365 CE instance.
Step 4:
Enter your email address and click on “Next” button.
Step 5:
Next, click on “Set up account” button.
Step 6:
Next, enter First Name, Last Name, Business Phone Number, Company Name, Company Size and select Country or Region. Then click on “Next” button.
Step 7:
Next, click on “Send Verification Code” button if Code and Phone Number is correct. Select “Text me” or “Call me” option to verify phone number.
Step 8:
Enter verification code that you received in your phone (I have selected “Text me” option). Then click on “Verify” button.
Step 9:
Next, Enter Domain Name in the textbox and click on “Check availability” button to check that domain is available or not. If Domain name is available then it will display message in green that domain name is available. Then click on “Next” button.
Step 10:
Next, create your User ID and Password to sign in to your account. Then click on “Sign up” button.
Step 11:
It will display thank you message and display “Get Started” and “Manage your subscription” link.
Step 12:
Click on “Get Started” button to set up a new environment. Now this step is mandatory in trial instance creation.
When we click on “Get Started” button and it will open new Power Platform admin center page in new tab. Admin/User needs to create new environment so that need to provide Name of the environment, Type of environment(Sandbox, Trial (subscription-based), , Production, Trial), Region and Purpose details. Then click on “Next” button.
Next, we need to select Language, URL(Domain Name), Currency and select Automatically deploy these apps equals to “All Enterprise applications” option. Then click on “Save” button.
After clicking on Save button, it will start preparing environment. Generally, it will take 15-20 minutes to prepare environment then it will display environment state as “Ready” instead of “PreparingInstance”. Click on “Refresh” button after some time to check it’s ready or not (Or reload page).
When it will complete the process then we can use our Dynamics 365 CE instance for development.
Select the environment and click “Open Environment” to use.
It will open environment in new tab and display main/home page. User can select different customer engagement apps like Customer Service Hub, Sales Hub, Field Service and Project Service etc. or if user want to use full suite of capabilities then select Dynamics 365 – custom app.
Step 13:
When we click on “Manage your subscription” link from Step 11 then it will open “Microsoft 365 admin center” to manage products/licenses if you want. We can also manage Users, Groups settings from Microsoft 365 admin center.
Note:
Dynamics 365 trial instance is valid for 30 days only.
Microsoft frequently changing the process of creating trial instance so that after some time may be the above steps will not be the same.
