One of the things that I get to do as part of my role at TSG, is to research into emerging technology and how it can benefit users. As part of the Spring ’14 Update Microsoft released the Unified Service Desk.
Great post and content. I am needing to better understand how USD can behave in an environment requiring login to external apps . What does an SSO strategy/approach look like? Is there a way to maintain session with UII Hosted web apps and the USD client?
After clicking the contact record we can see the left navingation agent script along with Actions.

Thank you for sharing the valuable information of Unified Service Desk, as everyone is new in USD this information help us a lot.
I am also currently working on USD and I have one requirement in which I need to create a Custom Hosted control (WPF or USD) to 'Search Customer' from CRM and create a session (of Account or Contact) from the custom hosted control list view item record click.
If you have any item how could we achieve this, please share your valuable suggestions.
The MSDN link mentioned in this post points to articles that are no longer available. This is because most of the configuration and customization topics were moved from the Unified Service Desk Administration Guide to the new Unified Service Desk Guide.
