Under CRM 2011 on IE, I am wondering how to do Set Regarding ? Please kindly shed some lights on this, thank you.
Can you elaborate a bit more on what you are trying to accomplish? Are you missing the field on the form?
Can you provide more information?
Do you mean set regarding in an activity?
Set regarding on what?
Where are you in CRM and what are you doing
Could you please more specific on your question/doubt?
Are you referring the Activities?
Thanks for all the response. After further dig deep my problem is that :
My environment is CRM 2011 and 1 of my Windows 8 Pro users using IE 11 to access the CRM. She has a member that she wants to send an email to through CRM on IE, and she wants a copy into the record (Closed Activities) of that CRM member.
After double-checking she now knows that she can first open up the Member Form of that member. Then from the "Add" Ribbon on top click "E-mail" and upon another windows pop-up she can see the email writing panel with "From", "To" & "Regarding" pre-filled. Once she finished the message and click "Send" a copy of this email will be entered into the CRM members' "Closed Activities" record. But she found that the email actually never sent out !
Then I went to Settings --> Administration --> Users and pick her account I saw from "Email Access Configuration", E-mail access type - Outgoing there are two options, namely "Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook" and "E-mail Router". I tried each one of them and then send out test email with set regarding, both of the options did not help the email sent out.
Long story short, the actual problem I am facing is actually not "Set Regarding", but why my user cannot send our emails to her members through CRM on IE (under Windows 8 Pro) ?
P.S.. To say upfront she got Outlook 2010 but for some reason she cannot install CRM for Outlook Add-In and I guess that's why the option "Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook" did not work (if we sorted it out maybe the email can be sent out via Outlook engine). Or if we choose another option "E-mail Router" I am wondering which E-mail Router will CRM looking for ? Because from my network there's no internal SMTP server, we are using Office 365.
Thank you so much for all the swift response. Hopefully I have made myself clear. Your kindly feedback would be most appreciated. Thank you.
For sending and receiving emails from CRM User interface we either need Outlook or email router as a medium to communicate with Exchange to be configured with your CRM organization based on the User settings in CRM.
If we don't have CRM Outlook client or Email router or Server Side Synchronization configured for users then we will not be able to send and receive emails from CRM.
Refer below blogs for more details :
Set up email through server-side synchronization : www.microsoft.com/.../set-up-email-through-server-side-synchronization.aspx
