I am making a CRM data migration from CRM 2011 to CRM Online. Unfortunately I encountered a problem where the attachments in the "email" entity is missing. So I tried to transfer the missing attachments with the entity "activitymimeattachment" but I can not make a link between the activities and the acitivitymimeattachment because of this error:
System.ServiceModel.FaultException<KingswaySoft.DynamicsCrmServices.Soap2011.OrganizationService.OrganizationServiceFault>: The attachment cannot be saved. Either specify activityId or ObjectTypeCode & ObjectId.
When I uncheck the "activityId" everything works fine but I can't see the attachments in the "emails". Do you have any ideas or workarounds?
The error says that it can't figure out what to attach the file to. Are you setting the object type code, to tell it the entity type?
thanks it is solved now. The problem is you can not set the objecttype, objecttypecode with the activityid. Also the attachementid must be unchecked.
Now we can see the attachments in the new system.
Could you please provide more details on how you solve this problem. I have experience same issue.
Hi Val Maly, if you are using an integration tool like scribe, make sure you have the field activityid mapped and also, remove the links to the fields objectid, objecttypecode and attachmentid. if you are using the sdk, make sure you do not populate those fields either.
