In Account entity, I have added "Addresses" sub grid.
But "+" button which is used to create a new record on addresses sub grid is not working.
I assume even though there is a relationship present for Addresses & Contact entity, there should be a lookup field added to the address entity form. But as we cannot add the lookup field for contact to Address entity form, + button on address sub grid, doesn't open up a new record to create.
When I read below blog,http://blog.encorebusiness.com/dynamics-crm-address-entity/
I got the above information that we cannot add Account or contact lookups to address entity form and we cannot create any custom relationship or cannot create a custom lookup to the address entity.
Any solutions or suggestions in a supported way please.?
My project logged a case with Microsoft regarding the plus button - so it's a 'known' bug. My advice would be to train users to add addresses via the associated view.
Thanks for the information. It was useful.
For information: We also opened a case with Microsoft about that. No solution for the time being.
Thanks for this. Our users noticed this too.
Would it help if my company also logged a support ticket with Microsoft?
I have faced a similar bug in CRM 2016 where Members cannot be added to Marketing List. I was migrating CRM 2013 to CRM 2016 and out of the box functionality was not working. After a lot of research I found two things missing from the form XML:
Try to create a new org without any customization and check whether the functionality works there. If it works, create a new solution with a new form and try to import the solution in your current organization. If the new form works here ,then export a solution with current form and new form and check customizations.xml. In customizations. xml compare the forms and try to find out the issues.
It's not working in a brand new organization either.
Yes I thought it looks for Quick Create form which was not supplied but creating custom Quick Create form did not help. + button still does nothing.
Try turning on Legacy form Rendering and refreshing the page, it worked for me.
Settings –>Administration –> System Settings and turn on – ‘Legacy form rendering’.
