Limit the number of contacts that can enter a journey per day

I'm curious if there is a way to limit/cap the number of contacts that can enter a journey per day until the segment is exhausted?
 
For example, I have a segment of 200k contacts. Can I cap the number of contacts who can enter this journey at, say 10k, until all contacts are added? 
 
Or is the option to break up my segment into smaller lists and manually add each list when I want the contacts to start the journey?

    As a workaround, you can split your 200k segment into smaller lists (e.g., 10 lists of 20k contacts) and manually add each list to the journey when you want them to start. This requires more hands-on management but can give you more control over the process.

    Hi everyone, Is this feature 'Rate Limit' still in Preview or can I use it in production journeys now? I see it no longer has the text 'Preview' next to it in the dashboard but in the release notes, it still shows that it is supposed to be available for general use in Feb 2025 but no updates yet.

    There actually is! About a month ago, "Rate Limit" was announced. It will be generally available in December 2024. 
     
    This feature allows you to spread out the number of customers who enter your journey over time:
    • Set rate limits per day or per hour.
    • Choose which days of the week customers can enter the journey.
    • Rate limits only apply to segment-based journeys, not trigger-based journeys.
