Key components for ER report in D365F&O

Hello,
 
As per the management decision, I need to start worked on ER report in coming days. I am absolutely new to ER. I like to know the below things before start work on ER report:
 
1. What are the important things to know for ER report to start work on.
2. Key components in ER report.
3. How will I setup print management for ER report.
4. Shall I use classes like Controller, Contarct and RDP class for ER report?
 
Please give me the thoughts.
