What is the difference between Balance & Details when select Post to Retained Earnings Acc?

Hi Community,

When close income statement, may I know what is the difference between Balance and Details when selecting at Post to Retained Earnings Account?

Also for Document no. Is there a good practice of what kind Document no. we should put or this depends on individual companies?

Hello,

Document No. is Identification of General Led Entry, either you can use No. Series or You can Mention the Specific No. to Identify Closing Entries.

And if You Choose "Details" in "Post to Retained Earnings" then in Each and Every Line of General Journal, Balance Account will be there.

And if You Choose "Balance" in "Post to Retained Earnings" then just a single line added against all the lines with Balance Account.
