A user is trying to select a Power BI report, but is getting the message shown.

When the user selects Request Access, who needs to grant access and where is that access granted?

I have the same question (0)

Whoever created that workspace or has access to that workspace needs to grant that user access.

The owner or admin for that workspace can manage access from the workspace by selecting Manage access:

They can then add users to that workspace here:

Thank you for the quick answer. It's only at the workspace level that the issue applies?

Hi, this is coming from the Power BI side, not from BC. The report is deployed in a workspace where you are not a member, so BC embeds it and Power BI just says no.

Two things I would check. First the licence, the BC Power BI apps don't work with a free Power BI licence unless the workspace sits on Premium or Fabric capacity, everyone who opens the report needs Pro. Second, whoever deployed the Finance app has to add you to that workspace, Viewer is enough just for reading. And if it was deployed into someone's My Workspace it will never work for the rest of the team, has to be a shared workspace.

Also open Power BI Connection Setup in BC, search it in Tell Me, and see which workspace the reports are pointing at. I seen this few times, usually the consultant deploys with his own account and then nobody else sees anything. Are you on SaaS?

Glad to help - follow up if anything is unclear.

►  If this solved it, marking it verified helps others too.

Thank you. I'll have the client check the Tell Me information. This is a BC Online environment.
