Item main accounts

Hi all,
I have a need and I want to know if there is a standard solution that can address it: an item intended for sale may need to be linked to a different general ledger account depending on the dimensions of the transaction. For example, if the item is Article-A1-B1, the account used should be 701, and if it's Article-N1-M1, the account used should be 702.
How can I do this in d365 f&o , please?

you can also create two items, with each of them posting to different GL account,
    ItemA-DimA (one item)
    ItemB-Dim2 (second item)
for every item, you can set different posting accounts,

    Hi,

Can you explain if Article-A1-B1 is an item number or if this is an item with two different dimensions? At least, for the same item, you can't distinct in main accounts while posting based on dimensions. There is an option to have a different main account based on the Tax Group.

    Hi,

By standard, item posting profile supports the GL at Item, Item group or All level, you are searching for different GLs based on different product dimensions like size, color etc.

It is not available in the standard,

On sales order lines, there is option to define the revenue GL manually, you can check with developer to update this field automatically through customization, thereafter everything will be handled by system in standard.

OR you can keep posting the revenue in single GL and thereafter do the allocation to different GLs based on Sales Revenue for different product variants.

If this helped, please mark it as "Verified" for others facing the same issue Keep in mind that it is possible to mark more than one answer as verified
