Recently i was going through MS official doc for setting up operational insight for D365 Commerce Webstore but i am not seeing any relevant data in the Application insight resource that i created in Azure portal.
Not sure if i missed anything, Does anyone have prior experience in setting up insights for ECommerce?

    Hi ,

Can you clarify your question? Don't you get any data in Application Insights or are you expecting out of the box reports?

    Hi Andre,

In Application insight overview pane there are 4 graphs 'Failed Request' 'Server Response time' 'Server Request' 'Availability'  all 4 shows no data for any duration.

In Transaction Search Under Investigate only trace logs are there rest everything is zero

In Logs under Monitoring No query returns anything.

Dashboard graphs also showing no data.

Overall no relevant data is coming up like User Sessions, Server requests, Page View or anything related to performance at all.

Do we have any other resource i can follow to understand this application insight as in how to setup and how to monitor.

    Hi Yogeshwar,

Thanks for your question. If you're not seeing relevant data in your Application Insights resource after setting up Operational Insights for D365 Commerce, here are a few things to check:

    1. Verify Instrumentation Key

    • Make sure the Instrumentation Key from Azure Application Insights is correctly configured in your Commerce environment settings.

    2. Enable Telemetry

    • Confirm that telemetry collection is enabled in your Retail Server and Commerce Scale Unit configurations.
    • Check if the telemetry level is set to capture the required data (e.g., errors, performance, usage).

    3. Review MS Docs Steps

    • Double-check the setup steps in the Microsoft documentation to ensure no steps were skipped, especially around environment variables and custom logging.

    4. Data Delay

    • Sometimes, telemetry data may take a few minutes to appear in Application Insights. Try waiting and refreshing the dashboard.

    5. Azure Permissions

    • Ensure your Azure resource has the correct permissions and that the Commerce environment has access to send data to it.

Let me know if this helps, and please mark the response as helpful if it answered your question 😊

    Best regards
