While exploring the new Quality Management extension in Business Central version 28.2, I encountered the following reproducible behavior that may require clarification or correction.
This is my setup:
- Directed Put-away and Pick = Yes
- Item Tracking = Lot
- Both a put-away and a quality inspection are generated when posting a warehouse receipt.
I tested two scenarios:
- Quantity = Entire Lot
Business Central looks up the current bin and remaining quantity of the lot and changes the item tracking correctly. - Quantity = Failed Quantity (the same result occurs when using Specific Quantity, Sample Quantity, or Passed Quantity)
Business Central falls back to the bin where the quality inspection was created, which is the receiving bin. However, the lot is currently in the put-away bin, so the item tracking change fails.
