Opening Inventory Excel Upload Set Avg Cost Advance Warehouse

Hi All
Ho do we set the average cost of the opening inventory when starting a system with directed putaway and pick location, as warehouse item journal does not have a field for the average cost , . Item journal does have the field but no way to easily set it and can cause mismatch errors if we have update this in item journal - what am I missing?
