Migrate Packingslips and Pickinglist

Hello,
 
Does anyone have experience in migrating PO packing slips and SO picking lists?
 
I client has enquired about this possibility but ideally we would want the client to finish all PO´s and SO´s in the legacy system that have packing slips and picking lists attached to them.
 
But I just wanted to check if someone has done this before and what is to be considered if we explore this option?

    Hello Valtyr,
     
    I don't have experience with it, because we advice always to close the open sales orders and purchase orders before the go-live of a new system. 
     
    Do you know why they want to migrate to the packing slips and picking lists?

    Hi Valtyr,
     
    In case the reason for migration is to be able to invoice the sales orders, I would recommend processing the invoices in the legacy system. 
    To have Dynamics 365 F&O aware of what needs to be invoiced, it requires the correct values in the sales orders and related inventory transactions. That requires actual posting of the packing slips, which is hard to mimic and requires custom conversion scripts.
     
    Only convert open quantities to deliver. In case you had an order for 1000 units where 300 are delivered in the old system, then in Dynamics 365 set the deliver remainder to 700 and invoice the 300 in the old system.
