sync items no. across entities

Hi Experts

I'd like to know if BC allows multiple entities in one tenant to sync item no. so one item has the same item no. across the board. Not sure if there is a 3rd party app for it.

This needs to be customized according to your needs. This requires another key to manage whether this is the same item.

I don't think Business Central will recognize the item if the item number is changed I just tested creating the new entity.

Additionally, setting up a one-way sync might help maintain master data effectively.

update, a new item was created in B after syncing from A. Since the item no has changed in A, BC regards it as a new item and create a new one in B. I would need BC to recognize those 2 as the same item.

Hi Yun

I tested but doesn't seem to work. I set company A as master company for B. Then choose item table and item no. as the field to sync.

After changing an item no. on A, I then sync to B. However the item no. on B didn't change. The job queue shows it has run successfully. But nothing in B changed.

Could you also test it and advise if it works as expected?

Are the entities you mentioned Company?
