How to control data view based on a security role

Hello all,
I hope you are all doing well.
I've a form with some data and the data contain an enum, i want some people with a specific role to maintain and view data of specific enum values and other role to view data of another specific values.
I think that can easily be done through range of the query depending of the current user's role but is there another way to do that?

    Hi,

For security roles, first attempt to manage access through standard privileges and action buttons. If the required control is not available, customization should be considered using XDS or X++.

For security role setup, you can go through the below video.

    Hi,

As mentioned above, you can achieve this with security policies, part of the eXtensible Data Security (XDS) framework. In case you expect that one user can get access to both roles and should have access to both enumeration values, it requires a specific implementation to use a MyConstruct table where you can build a list of enumeration values per user session based on assigned security roles. You can find some XDS examples on my blog: Extensible Data Security examples for Microsoft Dynamics
