How to remove main account from workspace account reconciliation configuration form.

Hi Team,

we have a requirement to remove main account from account reconciliation workspace configuration form in D365FO. as users are getting Open exceptions- exceptions are in the ledger but not the subledger (Workspace-->account reconciliation ).

it is for AR reconciliation accounts.

your inputs will be appreciated.

Hello,

If I understood your issue correctly, here are the different options:

Option 1: Remove the main account from configuration

Impact: The account will no longer be reconciled → no more exceptions.

Option 2: Prevent manual postings on this account

Impact: Avoid mismatches between ledger and subledger caused by manual entries.

Option 3: Accept exceptions without changes

In Account Reconciliation workspace, use: Mitigate exceptions > Accept without change

Impact: Exceptions are marked as resolved without changing configuration.

can you assist us with Option 1.

Option 1: Remove the main account from configuration

we have tried removing main account, disabled Reconciliation toggle 'No' and tried to remove , but remove account heading is disabled as below.

this main account not used either in posting profile or anywhere in legal entity.

please suggest to remove this main account 131XXX highlighted.

Hello,

For now, this is what I know: accounts created automatically by the system cannot be removed via the interface, which is why the 'Remove account' button is grayed out. (There might be a setting to change this, but it would need further investigation ) someone in the community who faced this requirement might be able to answer.) On the other hand, manually added accounts can be removed.
