we have a requirement to remove main account from account reconciliation workspace configuration form in D365FO. as users are getting Open exceptions- exceptions are in the ledger but not the subledger (Workspace-->account reconciliation ).

If I understood your issue correctly, here are the different options:
Option 1: Remove the main account from configuration
Impact: The account will no longer be reconciled → no more exceptions.
Option 2: Prevent manual postings on this account
Impact: Avoid mismatches between ledger and subledger caused by manual entries.
Option 3: Accept exceptions without changes
In Account Reconciliation workspace, use: Mitigate exceptions > Accept without change
Impact: Exceptions are marked as resolved without changing configuration.
