Hi All,

I would like to automate the movement of setup or configuration data between environment.

Previously I have used excel export and import and configuration migration tool for manually transferring data.

In my current project, this is going to be on going activity, therefore I would like to know what approaches or tools are available which can help in this purpose.

Your prompt response will kindly be appreciated.

Thank you

    Hi,

Could you explain a bit the business case? I am just wondering where this requirement comes from. The setup\parameters are being copied when you copy the database.

    Kind regards, Adis

    Hi Jeff,

Please explain what data should be included or is the requirement to have this dynamically based on new configured areas of the application? What will be the trigger to start moving configuration?

As Adis mentioned, if you have a golden configuration environment, you can copy the database to refresh the settings in e.g. a sandbox environment.

I know already the database copy, but that we dont want to do.

We just want refresh the environments with just latest setup or configuration data. By configuration data i mean mostly setup related which are part of customer workspace admin, contact center admin and copliot admin.

    Thanks

    Hey!

First question. Are we talking about Environments for CE/CRM (Sales, Customer Service, Field Service) or ERP (FinOps, commerce, Business Central)?

on CE/CRM, there are a couple ways you can move data consistently:
    - You can build your own by making API requests to source org and then using API Create/Upsert commands on target org.
    - You can use PowerAutomate or LogicApps to run a series of commands from previous step:  A PowerAutomate that executes weekly that retrieves certain data and inserts/Updates the target environment

    Best regards,

    Thanks all for your replies.

I found a way using DevOps pipeline using power app tools. I will use this approach.

    Thank you
