Electronic reporting several grids header repeating on the multiple pages

ReportReport

Hello,

In my electronic reporting based on the excel template I'll have 3 grids. These 3 grids will have its own headers.

Each grid can be so long that it'll be printed on several pages and I need to repeat only the header of those grid that will jump to the next page. What is the best approach to achieve this? Also if there are no records in any grid this grid shouldn't be shown at all.

Found this approach MS suggests

  1. On the Format designer page, in the format tree in the left pane, select the Intrastat root component.

  2. Select Add.

  3. In the Add dialog box, select the Page component in the Excel group of components.

  4. In the Component properties dialog box, in the Name field, enter Report page. Then select OK.

  5. To use the Report page header component as a page header on every generated page, follow these steps:

    1. Select the Report page header component, and then select Cut.
    2. Select the Report page component, and then select Paste.
    3. Expand Report page.
    4. To force the Page component to consider this range a page header, select Report page header, and then, on the Format tab, in the Replication direction field, select No replication.
  6. To paginate a generated document so that the content on report lines is considered, follow these steps:

    1. Select the Report lines component, and then select Cut.
    2. Select the Report page component, and then select Paste.
  7. To include the report footer after report lines but before the final page footer, follow these steps:

    1. Select the Report footer component, and then select Cut.
    2. Select the Report page component, and then select Paste.
  8. To use the Report page footer component as a page footer on every generated page, follow these steps:

    1. Select the Report page footer component, and then select Cut.
    2. Select the Report page component, and then select Paste.
    3. To force the Page component to consider this range a page footer, select Report page footer, and then, on the Format tab, in the Replication direction field, select No replication.
Did somone use it for the multiple tables pagination described by me above? Also I wonder why they paginate report lines. For me only report page header shoudld be paginated.

Thanks.

Not to leave this post I will try to use Page component on the format because here it's said
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/analytics/er-fillable-excel#page-component

"If you must split a generated document into different sections, each of which has a different pagination, you can configure several Page components in every Sheet component."

It seems to be the thing that I need. I'll keep posting here as I get any result.

You can give it a try, as I mentioned in the steps below.

    • In ER format mapping page, you have an attachment as an Excel template
    • From the Excel template, navigate to the page layout and select Print titles.
    • Next, as page setup > You have an Rows to repeat at top under Print tiles option
    • Finally, update your format on ER and complete the latest version, then check.

Thanks. I tried this and I fear, the problem with this approach it will repeat the header of the chosen grid on each page fo the report and I need to show only header of one of the 3 grids which is exceeded at the moment. So if the first grid will expand to 3 pages then on each report print page then only header of the 1st grid is hown, then if the 2nd grid will expand to 5 report prtint pages  then only header of the 2nd grid will be shown on those page. I hope that does make sense. Anyway, I'll keep this thread posted about outcomes of my trials.

Please try converting the grid into a table and set the header row to repeat on each page. Kindly give it a try.

If the records fit within a single page, the table header will not repeat. If the content spans multiple pages, the header will automatically repeat on each page.

in my format designer I do the following

I've added the page component then I follow this from the link above in order to create page header on every generated page. I put propert "replication direction" of the rabge "SlipLines_Labels" to "No replication". So i strictly follow the article instructions.

In my case it is range SlipLines_Labels from the screenshot above which I want to be repeated on every generated page. I also put property

When i generate my report SlipLines_Labels doesn't repeat on every generated page and moreover all the other ranges  below the Header1 page element are not shown on the excel report. That is back order range and all other ranges just disappeared. Maybe someone could point me to the right direction?
