Adding display field using "Insert columns"

Hi All,

Maybe I'm missing something obvious here, but I can't seem to find how this works...

I created an extension class on the salesTable table. That class contains one display method. This display method is added to the salesTableListPage using an extension on that form. I do see the field and all works as expected.

Next I remove the field from the grid using the "Hide this column" option. Then I want to add it again using the "Insert Columns" option on the grid. but the display field is not in the list of available columns... How can I add it again ?

Thanks !

Gerard

    Hi,

change the view from my view to standard view.

    Thanks Abdul,

When I change it to standard view, the column indeed is back. But in this case I want to preserve the changes in 'My View' and just add the column again. Otherwise the user has to re-recreate the customizations.

    Cheers,

    Gerard

Grid column which you added using display method can't be added using insert columns. Only the fields available in data source can be added.

    Hi Abdul,

Thanks; so by design.... Then we have no choice than to remove the customizations :o(

    Cheers,

    Gerard

    You can "unhide" the field.
Go to "Options" at the top of your form and choose "Personalize this page"
Then you'll get a little ribbon that has a "select" tool and a "Hide" tool and a "* Require" tool etc.
Choose Select and select your grid.
Then Choose Hide - it will show you ALL the fields on your grid, even the ones you have hidden, you can click on the column to unhide it (or click on others to hide them one after the other).

    HTH.
