On-Premise Lifecycle - Why they removed this? "We also plan to deliver a new on-premise release"

The sentiment out there is that Microsoft will stop supporting Dynamics 365 On-Premise after January 9, 2029, which is the latest extended support date. Then on February 23 this year they updated the article regarding extended support for Customer Engagement Apps with the following sentence:

We also plan to deliver a new on-premises release of Dynamics 365
Customer Engagement in the future, which will come along with it's own
lifecycle commitment.
But on June 14 2024 they updated this article again, and now the above information is taken away again. I now question the future of Dynamics 365 On-Premise(?) I wish Microsoft could be clearer in what their plans are, because as I said earlier the sentiment the last year has been that there will be no future releases of Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Apps, but then they post stuff like this. Same time I've been asking several Microsoft Support Engineers about this and the answer they give me is that they also do think On-Premise has a life also in the future, that Dynamics 365 will live both Online and On-Premise because there is still a lot of demand for this.

Here is the article they updated on February 23 2024 (see text marked in yellow):

And here is the article changed on June 14 2024:

This makes me confused and I hope Microsoft take the time to clear things up for us. I dont think this is a coincidence and I belive that the On-Premise version of Dynamics still has enough demand to live longer!

I have the same question (0)

On-Premise Lifecycle - Why they removed this? "We also plan to deliver a new on-premise release"
I've been watching this thread.  We are an ISV with a product built on top of Dynamics 365 V9.1 on-premises that provides our customers with a core line-of-business solution that is truly business critical.  We are executing a programme to move them to Dynamics Online but this is a multi-year program for various reasons.

We have also been waiting for clarification on the future from Microsoft and have been led to expect something by early 2026 at the latest.  No promises, though.

I wanted to see if anyone else was aware of the removal of support for Exchange Online with server-side sync for Dynamics V9.1 on-premises in October 2026?  For us, that effectively brings the end-of-life of Dynamics on-premises forward from 2029 to October next year, unless there is a change of heart.

On-Premise Lifecycle - Why they removed this? "We also plan to deliver a new on-premise release"
I have now been in contact with Microsoft 3 times now, about this, through their Chat on Dynamics.com and gotten several different answers.

1ts contact: I told them everything posted above and they promised me to send me an email stating that they definitely will release future On-Premise versions of Dynamics 365.

2 weeks later I had still not received that email so I contacted them on the Chat again.

2nd contact: I told them everything above and was promised they would look into why I had not received any feedback on email and to get that person to send it to me. All this information I had to write to them in an email to the email-address of the sales person I chatted with.

A few weeks later, still no response, even though I tried to rush them with a new email to the same address.

Today I contacted Microsoft through their chat again about this and this time a got a whole other answer:

"I completely understand but based on the article available to us currently this will be continued to January 17, 2027 and extended support to January 9, 2029, there has been no additional updates provided at this time and once available will be made available to all existing on-prem user worldwide."

I again stated that they updated the article on 23rd of February with the following: "
We also plan to deliver a new on-premises release of Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement in the future, which will come along with it's own lifecycle commitment."

    Microsoft then answered:

"That is what was stated in the forum however there is official release as yet regarding this finalizes decision, hence we have to wait on that article to be provided to the public."

Again I argued about the update on 23rd of February and directed them to the web archive of this post the 13th of June, day before they removed the text about a new On-Premise version:
    https://web.archive.org/web/20240613193549/https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/announcements/dynamics-365-customer-engagement-apps-v9-support-extended

I got the following answer from Microsoft:

"That link is not showing as an active link and is not loading."
"Hence further reinforces my point, here so the available is the current information until that has been by the company and there is a modification and a new update provided"
"We are operating in the tech industry and the age of technology which is a ever changing environment but new revisions and updates happening constantly."

After a few messages back and forth I got the following answer:

    "
As stated multiple previously that was released by the development tech which work and backend, so it may be possible there is a new release being worked however seeing that the article was removed it would seem they don't want to make any commitments or guarantees based on changes not know to the public which would include myself in the Presales team."

.... still waiting for an official answer fro Microsoft to all of this shenanigans!
