Our instance of Navision is linked to a domain for single sign on. How easy is this to remove? We have the server running in Azure now and want to disassociate this with the domain now but want to allow occasional user access for historical access.

    Navision Domain
Hi, use the following command to clear the user, and the next login user will be the super user.

    USE [Database Name]
    GO
    delete from [dbo].[User]
    delete from [dbo].[Access Control]
    delete from [dbo].[User Property]
    delete from [dbo].[Page Data Personalization]
delete from [dbo].[User Default Style Sheet]
    delete from [dbo].[User Metadata]
    delete from [dbo].[User Personalization]

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    Navision Domain
    Hello,

it's possible, but there are a few things to consider. Since your server is running in Azure, the simplest way is to remove the domain dependency while keeping local user accounts for access.

    1. Backup. Always take a full backup before making any changes, just in case

    2. Before removing the domain, ensure you’ve created local Windows user accounts and assigned them the necessary Navision permissions. Otherwise, you might lock yourself out

    3. If Navision is using Windows Authentication for SQL access, you’ll need to switch to SQL authentication and update connection settings

    4. Once local accounts are in place, disjoin the server from the domain via System Properties -> Change Settings and reboot

    5. If some users still need occasional access, you can set up a simple VPN or Azure Bastion for secure RDP connections

    Hope this helps!
