Business Central does not generate Balance Sheet Closing and Opening Entries

Hello,

I am surprised to find that Dynamics 365 Business Central does not generate a Balance Sheet Closing Entry and the corresponding Opening Entry for the following fiscal year.

In more than 28 years working with accounting systems (A3, ContaPlus, Francis Lefebvre, INSA and Navision), all of them generated:

  • Income Statement Closing Entry
  • Balance Sheet Closing Entry
  • Opening Entry for the next fiscal year

Business Central only closes Income Statement accounts and carries forward balance sheet balances automatically.

My concern is that, in Spain, the opening entry, income statement closing entry and balance sheet closing entry are commonly reflected in the official accounting books filed with the Mercantile Registry.

Is there any standard functionality in Business Central or in the Spanish localization that generates these entries?

If not, what is Microsoft's position regarding compliance with Spanish legal accounting books?

From my perspective, this should be standard functionality in the Spanish localization and should not require a customization or third-party development.

Thank you.

Here are all the Spanish localization features; feel free to take a look.

Additionally, if you have any ideas, you can submit them to Microsoft.
