Hello
We are evaluating if we want to use the new time sheet functionality that allows more ties between projects and time sheets. I have a question about it. I've noticed that unless the planning line date is within the time period of the time sheet, BC will say it cannot pull in anything to the time sheet. Is there a work around for this? It is not feasible for us to enter a new planning line each week for each resource just so it can be populated into a time sheet. This might be one part of the new functionality that we cannot use if there is no work around for it.
Here is an example of what I'm talking about:
In the project a planning line is entered for 12/1 for budgeted hours for resource Kenny for 80 hours because that is the total budgeted hours for the project.
In Kenny's timesheet that begins on 12/1, the project and task pull in fine using the prompt. Kenny only worked 20 hours that week on the project, leaving 60 hours to be consumed.
It is now the week beginning on 12/8. Kenny tries to pull in project lines to his timesheet but none can be found because the date on the planning line with remaining hours is 12/1, not 12/8.
He can enter the info manually, we were hoping the functionality would read that there are remaining hours in the budget for Kenny and pull in the project number and task.
