Project budget does not work in a PR line

Hi All

I have set up a project budget by activity and category which transaction type is Expense.

But it seems that the project category budget does not work, when I create a PR line and select a project and its activity and its category which transaction type is Expense.

The error message tell me that there is no budget, although it has been set up and approved.

Is it correct? I can not use a project category which Transaction type is Expense in a PR line. Could you give me some suggestions or help me to solve it?

additional note:

when I click submit workflow, the error message will be as below：
The entry for category PXXX-G010, activity CNXX-000067 on project A00000003 cannot be submitted because it would cause the cost budget to be exceeded by 10009.00.

I checked Project PR, it have not any other PR in my D365. So the remaining project budget of a category which transaction type is expense should be enough.

My issue is that when project category budget which transaction type is expense, the PR will display error that says there are not budget.

But if the project category budget which transaction type is item, it can pass the budget control.

Additional explains:

My Project has Use budget control enabled, and the parameter Check budget on document line save is also turned on. This means that when I save a PR line, the system should check the Project budget.

In reality, when I select the Project, Activity, and Project category on the PR line and click Save, the system checks the budget and it passes without any error. The budget is indeed sufficient.

However, when I submit the workflow, the system seems to perform another project budget check, and at that point it reports that the budget for this project, activity, and category is insufficient.

But this case happened only when the project category with transaction type is Expense. It's very strange.

Why does this happen and how can it be resolved?

Hello Dear, there are alot of parameters that decide budget control on project.

1. Please check the document's that are enabled for Project budget in Cost parameter

2. If PR is enabled there and you are facing this error please disable line level check on document save, as this is the reported bug to MS you can also find reference on LCS for this
