Default to Modern Search in Lists and dropdowns for all users

In Business Central v27.0 feature "Use optimized text search in lists" has been enabled for all users. According to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/ui-enter-criteria-filters?wt.mc_id=d365bc_inproduct_page#searching, If modern search is enabled for your environment, it's the default search method.

This is not the experience I am seeing in our environment. Legacy search is still the default in lists and dropdowns. It can be changed per user, but I am wondering why it isn't behaving as the default

Hello,

This is expected. In v27 the optimized (modern) search is available by default, but existing users keep their old (legacy) search preference. Only new users or users with reset personalization get modern search automatically. There’s currently no admin setting to force it for all users.
