Filter Posted Purchase Invoice Lines by Global Dimension 2

I’m looking for feedback regarding permission configurations for restricting access to Posted Purchase Invoices by Global Dimension 2, which is currently being used as the Entity dimension.
We have a user-defined permission set that includes a security filter on Table Data 123 – Purch. Inv. Header, where Global Dimension 2 = 01|03.

The challenge arises in the following scenario:
User Access: Entities 01 and 03
Posted Purchase Invoice: Contains distributions to Entities 01 and 02

When the user attempts to open this invoice, they receive a permissions error indicating they do not have access to the record.

Is this a common limitation when using security filters on posted purchase invoices? Additionally, is there a way to truly filter access to Posted Purchase Invoice Lines so that users can view only the transactions associated with the entities they have permission to access?

Instead of granting access to Posted Purchase Invoice pages:

Build a custom list page/report over:

    Purch. Inv. Header
    Purch. Inv. Line
    Apply filtering by Entity dimension.
Show only records the user is authorized to see.

Many BC implementations use inquiry pages rather than security filters for complex dimension-based segregation.

Yes that is a common limitation. As Kamlesh mentioned you could look at a customization. There are also apps on the marketplace that enhance permissions as out of the box permissions are quite basic. One that helps with field level security is 2-controlware's Compliance Field Security app: 2-Controlware | Compliance software for Business Central

I'm not affiliated with them but they have options for controling field security to the level you need. It's also worth working with a partner to explore options for field security management or even developing a custom extension.
