We are currently migrating from GP to D365. As part of this transition, we plan to migrate the opening balances (Trial Balance) by posting them as a General Journal Entry in D365 to establish the opening Trial Balance.
We have an existing integration between GP and third-party applications that exports all transactions on a weekly basis. If we post the opening balances as a General Journal Entry in D365, these entries may also be exported to the third-party applications, resulting in duplication, since the same balances are already being exported from GP.
Is there a way to configure the integration so that it excludes the Trial Balance journal entries from D365, thereby avoiding duplication in the third-party applications?
It all depends on what logic you have put in the integration while identifying the records to send.
To exclude opening transactions from sending, you can differentiate those with help of separate Journal name for opening transactions. So, in the integration, you should exclude all the transactions which are posting via specific journal (opening journal).
