Unsupported file storage location on attachment entity

Hi Everyone,
I have a custom data entity that uses DocumentManagement::attachFileForRecord in persistEntity to attach files via OData. The file uploads successfully but shows "Unsupported file storage location" in the preview and File location is empty. The DocuType used is File. 
what is the reason behind that?
