Financial dimensions in Projects - Security

Hello.

I am trying to set read level access for one or several project financial dimensions but am unable to find the correct place to override (for example, for the project manager role). By doing an override for the "tabfinancialdimensions" control for the role I can set read level access for all financial dimensions, but not one separately. Is it possible to override access to a selected financial dimension?

Best Regards,

Antti

The financial dimensions control is a dynamic control that is instantiated based on the dimensions that the user has set up (rather than other project properties that are defined in the metadata). Since every customer dimensions are different, there is no way in AX 2012 to specify a single dimension to secure. This would require some sort of customization.

Thank you for your answer - I have been away and noticed I haven't given credit to an informative and precise answer where one was due :) This answered my question precisely!

This is exactly the same issue I had on the SalesTable form.

    It solved the issue.

    Actions:

    1. Navigate to the form and set the property NeededPermission for the FinancialDimension tab to Manual.

    2. Drag the Form under the security role (node Permissions > Forms)

    3. Drag the tab under the Form

    4. Set the property to Read.
