Hi everyone,
I'm getting the following error intermittently when submitting a Purchase Order for workflow approval on a DevBox environment:
X++ Exception: Cannot create a record in Alerts - event inbox data (EventInboxData). Inbox ID: 5637144683. The record already exists.
I have a few learning questions:
1. What is EventInboxData?
What is the purpose of this table? How does it relate to EventInbox and the workflow notification system?
2. Why does this error happen?
What causes D365 to try to insert a duplicate record in EventInboxData? Is it related to the workflow batch jobs, the notification system, or something else?
3. How to fix it?
What is the correct way to resolve this error — is it safe to delete the duplicate records manually, or is there a standard cleanup process?
Thanks in advance!
