Having always previously implemented Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement applications server-side integration with Exchange Online when both platforms are in the same M365 tenant, now looking at scenarios where cross-tenant integration (i.e. D365 and Exchange Online on different M365 tenants) might be required.
I understand that there are some limitations or constraints imposed when integrating these platforms across tenants such as the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook not being support. That does not present a major concern.
What I can’t seem to get an understanding of how do identities work in these cross tenant scenarios? How do the platforms know that User1 in tenant A is User2 in tenant B in order to properly synchronise Emails, Appointments etc. Is this something that has to be configured in some form of user profiles?
Thanks
