        "JournalId": "MMO-017881",
        "Site": "900",
        "Warehouse": "900",
        "TransactionId": "ae1419d1-9845-40cb-8c4d-62b38a4b8633",

                "LotId": "MMO-228231",
                "SiteId": "900",
                "WarehouseId": "900",
                "LocationId": "01A02",
                "ActualQty": 10,
                "IncludeInJournal": "Yes",

    Can you explain your scenario, please? You said your goal is just posting a journal, so why you're suddenly talking about updating dimensions?

    In general, you can see that data entities are already of capable of handling financial dimensions. You've demonstrated an export, but you can also import them, e.g. create general journal lines with dimensions. Therefore I suggest you utilizing an entity even if you've decided to use a custom service. You can use entities from X++ in the same way as tables.
