Post journal batch job is not always posting vendor payment journal

Hi,

We are integrating EFT (ACH) vendor payment - We want to have a payment journal when fully approved get posted automatically.
I created a POST JOURNAL batch job (from General ledger module) - it is working fine and posting the journals
However, sometime it is skipping certain journal. I found out if a payment journal is approved but IN USE by a user, it will not be posted. witch is fine.
Then even when the journal get closed, no user is on it. The next batch job run will skip it again.
I think this is a cache issue.

Any though how to make sure the batch is always posting and/or getting its cache cleared
OR may be the issue is caused by another reason.

You're right: the batch journal doesn't post the journal in use. It is no different from the posting done by a regular user. The problem here is probably not related to the batch or configuration, but to timing. ThusEnsure that the batch runs after the user releases the journal, and try to check if this flag is selected before to run the batch:

I did a quick test in my environment, and it works.

Hi,

Also you can add in condition if you find field in use = no then only pick that journal.

Hi,

Today, no payment journal was posted through the POST JOURNAL batch job.
Batch has created a task and successfully ended. No Error message

With the same criteria it has run last week.
The Payment journals have no error, already validated before getting them approved.

Any thought

Timing. The system has detected that the journal is still being used when the batch runs. :-)

Hi Giorgio,

Correct.

This is my assumption. Once a journal was in use and even closed, it still considered in the cache as opened.
The next questions

1- How long is the timing ?
2- How to clear the batch job cache so it will always run as the first time ?

Note: If I try to create a new batch, I can see the journals ready to be posted - Tomorrow I'm expecting them to be picked by the batch and posted

Hi Kamel,

Do you create a new batch job per execution or are you trying to setup a recurring batch job?

Hi André-Arnaud,

We set a recurring batch job and it is not working. I've already opened a ticket with Microsoft, they are still looking at it.
For now we are thinking to move to interactive batch job (I mean create a batch every day to mass post the payment journal)
