We are in a situation where customer created the few custom fields directly D365 UI itself using "Custom fields" feature. Now they want these fields to be added to few data entities. When we try to add it to data entity, we are getting error "Metadata validation failed". I couldn't see an options to add it to add fields from Visual studio. Could someone help on this?

    Check this LCS entry:  https://fix.lcs.dynamics.com/Issue/Details?bugId=226053&dbType=3&qc=c7e62e7e519d7dec13b4ebc62e2b76f3aa8a9285bb9f7c05ea6897172428aff1

Are you facing the same error trying to add the field one by one entity? In this way you will be able to focus where the issue is. If you are facing the error trying to add one by one, my suggestion would be to create a Support ticket for Microsoft.
