We are an Engineered to Order organization and we currently use the Planned Order Status of Approved to indicate a planned order is ready to release to purchasing. Our lead times are frequently 2-3 months from our suppliers. Since going live on AX2009 we have been fighting the issue of Approved Planned Orders getting deleted and regenerated that are now Unprocessed (not flagged for purchasing). This has caused us to miss shipments; given our lead times our customers can get really frustrated. We are currently logging deletions and updates to the planned orders. I have an example of one collection of orders, all from the same BOM where some Approved orders have remained and others have been deleted. It appears to happen regardless of the BOM level, item type.
According to the AX2009 help file, "An approved planned order is transferred in its current state to the next master schedule calculation." We have interpretted that as any Approved Planned Order should remain through subsequent MRP runs. I don't know if it matters but we also use BOM Explosions on a regular basis.
Any suggestions on where to look next?
