How can I remove emails from being considered in Last Activity Date in an Opportunity Search?

I've got a sales team with 6 members sharing 3 territories (an AE paired w/ a BDR), so we use Last Activity Date to make sure the AE and BDR aren't stepping on each other's toes when prospecting. However, emails are the least effective method of prospecting with the least return and lowest contact efficacy (and are also the easiest way to generate a ton of mostly meaningless sales activity in an extremely short time to pump your activity numbers up to impress the boss yet do almost no traction-able work), so I don't want to include emails in Last Activity Date when pulling Opportunities to prospect from. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this. We have to prospect from Timeline in Opportunities (eyeroll) so the search has to be an Opportunity search, AFAIK. Any and all help appreciated.
