Missing “Print → Reconciliation summary” on Bank Statement Reconciliation

Hi community,

First of all, thank you for your help and great contributions!

I have been trying to set up a security role, and it's taking me far too many hours to figure this out.

I’m trying to enable a junior accountant to access Print → Reconciliation summary on the Bank Statement Reconciliation page in D365 F&SCM (see below), and I’m running into a wall. Here is the situation:

What I want to achieve
  • Allow a custom “Accountant” security role to: "Print" and generate a Reconcilliation Summary from Bank Statement reconciliation. The issue is that the Print button does NOT appear for this security role, even though they can see and edit bank statements.

What I have done:

When I run diagnostic, it shows these objects

  • Duties:
    • Enable bank management process
    • Review bank management process performance
    • Inquire into bank management reference data

  • Privileges:
    • Maintain bank statement
    • View bank statement
    • Generate bank statement report
None of these privileges includes access to “Print → Reconciliation summary.”

I have compared it to a security role that currently has access to this information, "Senior Accountant", reviewed duties privileges compared them and tried them... even table permissions.

Does anyone know what I am missing? It would be really helpful to understand better, as this has been an ongoing issue for quite some time. Please find some screenshots below for more context and thanks!

Cheers,
Roni

    Hi @RK-11091715-0

I can understand the security role can be complex sometimes :-)

Below you will find the Privilege and the resource type required to enable print management
Role Sub role Duty Privilege Resource type Context \ Resource Read Update Create Delete Correct Invoke
Accountant   Enable bank management process Maintain bank statement Menu item display BANKACCOUNTSTATEMENTACTION Grant Grant Grant Grant Grant Unset

    Hi Roni,

You can check the security details for the report by opening the form design in Visual Studio and check what menu item is called for the report. You can read my blog for more understanding.
Securing a menu item is not enough - form parts - Dynamicspedia

    In this case:

    Privilege
    • Generate bank statement report (BankStatementMOGenerate)
Duties (at least one of these)
    • Inquire into bank accountreconciliation status (BankBankAcctReconStatusInquire)
    • Enable bank management process (BankBankManagementProcessEnable)
    • Review bank management process performance (BankBankManagementProcessPerfReview)
It looks like you have the second duty in your security role. If it is not visible using either of the three duties, you can start troubleshooting:
    1. Check if there is another privilege with deny access on the menu item BankReconciliationHeaderReport.
    2. Check if there is a personalization applied using a Saved view where the menu item is hidden by configuration.
