Option 1: Add a Dashboard to the Home Page with Payroll Activities
If payroll activities are represented by:
    Tasks
    Appointments
Custom entities (e.g., a “Payroll Request” or “Payroll Task”)
Then you can create a dashboard showing them.
    🛠 Steps:
Go to Dynamics 365 > Click on the settings gear > Advanced Settings.
    Navigate to:
Settings > Customization > Customize the System.
    Go to Dashboards, click New.
    Choose a layout (e.g. 3-column).
Add components (charts, lists, iFrames, web resources).
    For payroll:
Add a view of Activities filtered by a "Payroll" category or subject.
Or add a custom entity view for payroll-related records.
    Save and publish.
🔁 Make it the Home Page:
Once the dashboard is saved, users can pin it as their default:
    Navigate to the dashboard
Click the pin icon (📌) near the top right to make it the default.

Option 1 – Add to a Personal Dashboard

If “Payroll activities” is a view, you can add it to your home page by creating a personal dashboard:

    Go to Customer Service HubDashboards.

Click NewDashboard (select layout, e.g., 2-column).

In one of the sections, choose View → Select the table/entity that stores Payroll activities → Pick your saved view (e.g., “Active Payroll Activities”).

Name the dashboard (e.g., “My Service + Payroll”) and Save.

Set it as your default home page:

Open the dashboard dropdown, find your dashboard, and click Set as Default.

Option 2 – Pin Payroll Activities View to Site Map

If you want “Payroll activities” directly in the left navigation of the Customer Service app:

Open App Designer for your Customer Service app (Settings → Advanced Settings → Apps → select Customer Service Hub → Edit).
In the Site Map, add a new Subarea:
      Type: Entity
Entity: Your Payroll Activities table (or activity).

    Save and Publish the app.

Now it appears in the nav, and clicking it can be your starting page.

I hope this will help you.

    Hi there 👋

    Thanks for your question!

To add payroll activities to the home page in Dynamics 365 (or a related app), you typically need to customize the dashboard or workspace depending on the module you're using.

Here are a few steps you can try:

    1. Use Personalization

      • Navigate to the payroll module or activity you want to pin.
      • Click on the Personalize option (usually found in the top-right corner).
      • Select Add to workspace or Pin to dashboard depending on your environment.
    2. Customize the workspace

      • Go to your home page or workspace.
      • Use the Edit or Customize option to add tiles, links, or reports related to payroll.
    3. Use Power Apps or Power BI tiles

      • If payroll data is exposed via Power Apps or Power BI, you can embed those visuals directly into your dashboard.
    4. Security roles

      • Make sure your user role has access to payroll features—some activities may be hidden based on permissions.

Let me know which version or module you're using (e.g., Finance, HR, Business Central), and I can provide more tailored steps.

✅ Please mark this reply as helpful if it answered your question.
    Best regards! 👋

Adding Payroll Activities to the Home Page in Dynamics 365
You can add Payroll Activities to your home page either through a personal dashboard, the app’s site map, or by customizing a workspace—depending on your environment and permissions.

    Option 1 – Personal Dashboard
Go to Dashboards → New → choose a layout.
Add a view of your Payroll Activities entity/table (or filter Activities by “Payroll”).
Save the dashboard and Set as Default so it loads as your home page.

Option 2 – Pin to Navigation (Site Map)
In App Designer, open your app (e.g., Customer Service Hub).
In the Site Map, add a new Subarea pointing to your Payroll Activities table.
Save & publish — it will now appear in left navigation.

Option 3 – Workspace / Personalization (for Finance, HR, or Operations modules)
Open the payroll module or activity list.
Use Personalize → Add to workspace or Pin to dashboard.
Customize tiles, charts, or reports as needed.
Tip: Ensure your security role has access to payroll records; otherwise, the options may not appear.
