I'm building a custom API endpoint and connecting to the Microsoft Sandbox Cloud Environment in VS Code. However, I encounter the following error:

"Failed with code Forbidden. Reason: Your license does not grant you the following permissions on TableData 2000000206 Published Application: IndirectRead for company XYZ..."

I have already assigned SUPER user permission to the user, but the issue persists. Additionally, I am unable to grant IndirectRead access to the user.

I am trying to use the command AL Code: Download Symbols for which getting this error.

How can I resolve this permission issue?

I just want to clarify you are getting this error when you download the symbols, and the only AL file you have is the Custom API, is that correct? Please verify if you have a license assigned to your user in Azure AD for Business Central.

Permission Issues in the Sandbox Environment

The core issue is that you're getting a Forbidden error when trying to download symbols in your Business Central Sandbox environment, specifically related to TableData 2000000206 (Published Application) lacking IndirectRead permissions.

Here are the steps to resolve this:

    1. Check Environment Access:

      • Verify you have admin rights in the Business Central admin center

      • Ensure your sandbox environment is properly provisioned

      •

    2. License Verification:

      • Despite having SUPER permissions, your license type might be restricting access

      • Check if you have a Premium or Essential license that includes development capabilities

      • Verify in the admin center that your user is properly licensed

      •

    3. Try These Solutions:

      • Log out completely and log back in to refresh your session

      • Clear your browser cache and credentials

      • Try redownloading the AL Language extension in VS Code

      • If possible, try connecting to a different sandbox environment

      •

    4. If Issues Persist:

      • Ask your BC administrator to:

        • Check the "Published Application" table permissions specifically

        • Verify all development-related permission sets are properly assigned

        • Consider recreating your sandbox environment if needed

        •

      •

    5. Last Resort:

      • If none of the above works, you may need to:

        • Contact Microsoft Support with your session IDs (42476 and 42481 from your logs)

        • Have them verify there are no underlying licensing or permission configuration issues
Please try and let me know if you still face the issue.

If this solves your problem, please make it as a suggested answer.

    Have a happy weekend ahead

    Hi,
If you have multiple companies then delete the XYZ company, I think you created a new company which is causing the license issue.

    Thanks.
