facing an error in accessing CRM: it says 'You need to be added to a security group to access this environment'

    if your CRM instance is tied with a security group in AD then your user need to be add that in security group.
    Ask your admin to add you in security group

    What this error means
    Your Dynamics CRM (Dataverse) environment is configured to allow access only to users who are members of a specific security group.
    If:
    • your user exists in Microsoft Entra ID, but
    • you are not a member of the security group assigned to the environment
    then Dataverse blocks access before roles or licenses are evaluated.
     
     
    What needs to be done (in order)
    1 - Be added to the correct Security Group
    An Entra ID / Microsoft 365 admin must add your user to the exact security group linked to the environment.
     
    This is done outside Dynamics CRM, in:
    • Microsoft 365 Admin Center
    • or Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
     
    2 - Confirm the group is linked to the environment
    Go to https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/environments
    • Select the environment you want to check.
    • Under the Details tab, check the Security Group.
    If a group is assigned, only members of that group can log in.
     
     
    3 - After group access, assign a Dataverse role
    • Once you can open the environment:
    • Assign a Security Role (e.g. System Administrator, Salesperson, Custom role)
    Roles are evaluated after security group access
