Is it possible to extend copilot in new forms to provide a summary like the summary tab in customers and sales orders?

I haven’t managed to develop a new summary for a custom form in D365 F&O, so I’d love to see someone develop it. (-:

Yeah, you can definitely extend any form with whatever logic you like for the AI. I actually wrote a blog post about it a while back, although I reckon it flew under the radar a bit, as a lot of people seem more focused on the marketing side of things these days than the actual tech,

Extend copilot for new forms

As of 10.0.45, much of the framework is still internal, so the direct answer to your question is no. The class that builds the summary in the standard application is called AppCopilotSummaryController.

If others have been successful in extending it, I stand corrected.

My advice is to roll your own summary functionality, maybe even using the sidecar. Ariste recently published a blog post on the topic: https://ariste.info/2025/09/create-client-plugins-copilot-studio-d365-fo/
